TORY TO ATTEND RUNCIMAN’S
AFTERNOON IN THE ISLANDS
BROCKVILLE -- John Tory, leader of the Ontario
Progressive Conservative Party, will be a special guest at this
year’s “Afternoon in the Islands” fund-raiser
for Leeds-Grenville MPP Bob Runciman.
Tory, a former CEO of Rogers Communications and Commissioner of
the Canadian Football League, was elected leader of the Ontario
PCs last summer. Earlier in his working career, Tory served as Chief
of Staff to former Ontario Premiers Bill Davis and Frank Miller.
“We’re excited to have John and his wife Barb attend
the event,” said Runciman. “It gives local people an
opportunity to meet him in an informal setting and getting to know
John is getting to appreciate what an outstanding premier he can
be for our province.”
This year marks the 19th anniversary of the fund-raising event,
held at the Glen House Resort on the 1000 Islands Parkway on Saturday,
August 20, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Tickets to the event can be obtained locally through Ray McClure
at 342-6976 or on line at www.lgprovpc.ca.
