DEPUTY LEADER OF ONTARIO PC PARTY VISITS BROCKVILLE

(Brockville) – Leeds Grenville MPP Bob Runciman today announced his longtime colleague, and Deputy Leader of the Ontario PC Party, Elizabeth Witmer MPP, will be the special guest speaker at a Brockville Chamber of Commerce breakfast on May 12.

Witmer, MPP for Kitchener-Waterloo, was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in 1990 and has held significant government portfolios including Deputy Premier, and Minister of Health. Currently, Mrs. Witmer is the Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition and serves as the PC Party’s critic for the Ministry of Health and Women’s Issues.

“I am pleased to welcome Elizabeth, my friend and colleague, for an important discussion on the state of the province’s health care system,” said Runciman. “With Ontarians paying more for health care, and the Brockville General Hospital’s recent announcement of service cuts, layoffs, and the closure of the Prescott lab, her visit could not be more timely,” said the local MPP.

The Brockville & District Chamber of Commerce will host Mrs. Witmer at a breakfast on May 12, 2006, at the Royal Brock Hotel in Brockville. Details and tickets may be obtained by calling (613) 342-6553.
