MINISTER'S ATTACK ON P.M. DANGEROUS POLITICAL PLOY – RUNCIMAN

(QUEEN”S PARK) – In a statement in the Ontario Legislature today, PC House Leader Bob Runciman called on the McGuinty Liberal government to stop attacking Canada’s new Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, on the issue of upcoming U.S. border crossing requirements.

Runciman cited comments made during yesterday’s Question Period by Tourism Minister Jim Bradley in a set-up question by Liberal backbencher Kim Craitor, where Bradley attacked Harper for his Cancun comment that the U.S. was proceeding with its plans, despite Canadian concerns.

“Minister Bradley’s were unhelpful and were designed to deflect media attention from statistics showing the government phone book had grown 100 pages with 7200 new employee listings, and a 20% increase in the number of bureaucrats earning over $100K,” Runciman charged.
