AREA HOSPITALS BENEFIT FROM
EQUIPMENT FUNDING
BROCKVILLE _ The three hospitals
in Leeds-Grenville benefited from the recent
funding announcement by the Ontario government,
receiving a total of $712,000 to purchase new
equipment.
The equipment replacement program is designed
to protect the health of patients and to assist
staff in performing their duties.
Leeds-Grenville MPP Bob Runciman said the funding
continues the program of capital investments
that was started several months ago.
The Brockville General Hospital will receive
an additional $312,000 bringing its new equipment
allocation for the 2003/2004 funding year to
$1,237,000.
Under the most receipting funding announcement,
Providence Continuing Care Centre – St.
Vincent de Paul Hospital and Kemptville District
Hospital will each receive $200,000.
The latest funding will allow hospitals to
invest in new patient lifts, electric beds and
safety alarms that will allow nurses to perform
their duties easier and more safely.
