HIGHWAY
15 IMPROVEMENTS ANNOUNCED
SEELEYS BAY _ The Ontario government
announced a $5.3 million project to improve traffic
flow and road safety by reconstructing Highway
15 from one mile north of Highway 401 north for
a distance of 11 kilometres.
Construction on the often deadly
section of highway is expected to start in August,
announced Bob Runciman, Leeds-Grenville MPP.
The highway will be resurfaced and
partially paved shoulders will be added. Work
will include intersection improvements at Kingston
Mills Road, Cunningham Road, Paul Boulevard, Sunset
Lane, Isle of Man Road, Hughes Road, Woodburn
Road and Joyceville Road.
The Ministry of Transportation awarded
the contract to Dibble Construction Limited of
Kingston.
Runciman said he's pleased to see
the project move forward this year.
"This project will make this
important highway a lot safer for motorists,"
he said.
