Brockville Community Foundation, $60,000 over two years to develop and implement a business plan to build an endowment fund to be used for the growth and benefit of volunteer organizations and activities in the Brockville area.

Brockville Soccer Club, $75,000 over six months to improve safety and condition of soccer fields

Edwardsburg Lions Club Inc. $49,200 over one year to help renovate and repair the Lion’s Club building, which is a facility that is used for many community activities.

Rideau Lakes Environmental Foundation, $9,300 over one month to make the services provided at the Rideau Lakes Environmental and Information Center more accessible to people with physical disabilities

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 484, Mallorytown $37,800 over one year to renovate and improve the accessibility of the Legion building that is used by many local voluntary organizations for community activities, including youth and senior groups.

Royal Canadian Legion, Fort Wellington Branch, $19,600 over one month to make veterans memorial garden more accessible to the public by installing a wheelchair walkway, landscaping, lighting and public address system.

United Way of Leeds and Grenville, $104,600 over two years to strengthen the leadership ability of the United Way and to develop collaborative approaches to working throughout the United Counties to build strong communities.

Brockville and Area YMCA-YWCA, $115,500 over two years to establish post-rehab physical conditioning centre which will teach hundreds of participants how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Brockville Concert Association, $24,000 over two years to promote interest in music and present quality musical activities and experiences to the community.

Thousand Islands Foundation for the Performing Arts, $18,000 over one year to coordinate and further develop the Young Company touring program to better serve more children in the area.

Brockville Community Choir, $15,000 over three years to support the costs of a professional music director and
accompanist. This will allow for additional concert
presentations, encouragement of local musicians and increased community access to isolated residents.

Brockville Lacrosse Association, $19,500 over six months to support start up costs for safety and game equipment required to develop junior lacrosse league and foster long term participation among area residents.

MARCH 2002

Brockville Celtic Festival, $25,000 over one year for a coordinator to organize, increases awareness, and secure necessary support to establish a recurring Celtic Festival in Brockville that will celebrate local heritage and attract tourists to the area.

Rideau Lakes Home and Community Support Services,
$24,000 over one year to support the development and distribution of a booklet that identifies all palliative care resources in the Counties of Lanark and Leeds & Grenville

FEBRUARY 2002

Big Brothers of Leeds and Grenville, $105,400 over three years to ensure there are big brothers for young boys in the area who could benefit from this experience. The grant will enable a caseworker to recruit, screen, and train volunteers, promote the program, and match little brothers with big brothers.

Roebuck Educational and Recreational Association, $25,000 over one year to help acquire new equipment and make improvements to a playground that serves the Roebuck community.
