Ernie Eves Government Invests $17,300
For Better
Community Care in Leeds-Grenville
BROCKVILLE
– Six community-based agencies that
provide a diverse array of health services
for those who need special care in Leeds-Grenville
will benefit from a $17,300 increase in
funding, announced MPP Bob Runciman.
A total of $5.1 million was
invested province-wide.
“Today’s announcement
is part of the Eves government’s plan
to ensure everyone in Ontario has access
to quality community care when and where
they need it,” said Runciman. “Today’s
investment means organizations and volunteers
in our community will continue to provide
these very important services.”
Today’s investment is
in addition to the $20.4 million increase
in funding announced last month for Ontario’s
43 Community Care Access Centres (CCACs).
The local CCAC received an increase of $181,016
raising its annual budget to $19,960,600.
Receiving increased base funding
are Providence Continuing Care Centre –
St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, $7,500; Brockville,
Leeds-Grenville Branch of the Victorian
Order of Nurses, $5,700; Gananoque and Area
Services to Assist Independent Living Inc.,
$1,800; Kemptville and District Home Support
Inc., $1,400; Alzheimer Society of Leeds-Grenville,
$600 and the North Grenville Community Hospice,
$300.
“The people of Ontario
depend on quality community services and
our government will ensure those services
continue to be made available,” added
Health and Long-Term Care Minister Tony
Clement. “Today’s announcement
will benefit thousands of Ontarians.”
Since 1995, funding for community
support services in Ontario has increased
by an unprecedented 48 per cent.
